Workplace Safety

Australia has one of the highest skin cancer rates in the world and at least 2 in every 3 Australians will develop skin cancer before the age of 70.

Workers who spend a significant amount of time driving as part of their job will also have a higher than average risk of developing skin cancer.

The car’s side windows, in particular, block most UVB rays but do not filter out UVA rays as effectively as the windscreen, and the car’s sun visor doesn’t protect the driver’s face adequately when the sun shines from the side.

These UVA rays penetrate deep into the skin to cause premature skin aging and can lead to skin cancer.

Sun hats, which play an important role in providing UV protection for outdoor work, aren’t practical for drivers and get in the way when driving.

The Joopy Sun Shade fits to the car door in seconds and provides UPF50+ protection for the driver’s face and neck when the sun shines from the side. It even stays in place when the side window is wound down for fresh air.

Unlike window tinting, the Joopy Sun Shade does not affect the driver’s vision in low light conditions and is the safer option to avoid accidents*, not to mention the cost savings!

By reducing sun glare and heat stress, the Joopy Sun Shade also provides a safer, more comfortable and productive work environment which reduces driver fatigue and accidents.

Use a Joopy Sun Shade in your work vehicle as part of your workplace sun protection strategy.

* The RACV advises against window tinting for safe driving. Check out their recommendations here.
